Hello, I'm Katherine!

I'm an avid traveler who has lived abroad for a collective 3 years in France, Wales, and the Czech Republic. Prague, CR is now my semi-permanent home where I work at Charles University with incoming, non-Czech speaking international students. I facilitate study abroad programs for the students, and as such, I am keenly aware of problems facing newly arrived foreigners in Prague (aside from the fact that I was one once myself!). I run a travel blog in my spare time, www.studyhardtravelsmart.com, where I give advice on places I've traveled, and tips for students and others looking for more immersive travel experiences than the average tour. I did my bachelor's degree in the US in Theatre, and my master's in the UK in European Studies with a focus on Culture and Ideology. I regularly guest lecture in Charles University courses on EU integration and culture topics, and facilitate cross-cultural reflection and re-entry workshops. I absolutely love helping people learn to immerse themselves into and learn about new cultures, as I think it's the best way to learn about the world and ourselves!
